Jacksonville, FL – Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence announced earlier today that he has become the newest member of the Don Callis Family. The NFL star made the surprise move after his team lost last week to the Buffalo Bills in the Wild Card round of the playoffs.
“We’re just on the edge of greatness,” said Lawrence following his decision to join Callis. “I need someone to get me over that hump. I need someone with a proven track record and a large support system. That someone is Don Callis.”
Lawrence joins an already large Callis Family that also features Kazuchika Okada, Konosuke Takeshita, Kyle Fletcher, Josh Alexander, Lance Archer, Brian Cage, Mark Davis, Trent Beretta, Rocky Romero, Hechicero, Wardlow, Andrade El Idolo, El Clon, and Jake Doyle.
“There’s always room in the Don Callis Family,” laughed Don Callis. “I mean, not literally, but I’m working on it. I just got a new camper. I keep it out in the parking lot of my condo. I just have to move it every other day or else the building manager gets mad at me, but Trevor Lawrence can shack up there for a while.”
AEW leader and Jaguars Chief Football Strategy Officer Tony Khan introduced the two men in hopes of sparking some future wins.
“Trevor Lawrence is great,” said Khan. “Don Callis is great. Maybe they can be great together. I mean, it’s got to happen sooner or later? The law of averages states that at some point, one of them has to win. Right? Right?!”
