Behold Mrs. Deal’s most despised wrestler, “Ravishing” Rick Rude! Not sure if it’s the moustache, the overly greased physique, or his overall demeanor but boy does she hate this guy. So guessing she won’t be a fan of this here SQUASH of the Week!
His opponent this day would be one Jim Evans. You can tell he knows his fate as he throws up the patented jobber hand gesture – you know the one, where it’s done in a half hearted, “I’m about to get killed” manner!
So Rick comes out and starts swiveling his hips to delight of, well, at least a few women in the crowd. Pretty sure Mike McGuirk had no interest though as she looks like she can’t get out of the ring fast enough.
Rude of course tells the audio guy to cut the music and goes into his pre-match spiel. No idea where this one took place, as he tells the “coyote looking little boys” to shut their mouths. Not sure about you, but Rude always referred to me as either an “Indianapolis idiot” or a “Cincinnati sweathog”!
The match begins and Rude just waylays this poor geek into oblivion, using a combination of forearms, suplexes…
…and an awesome looking short arm clothesline. Why doesn’t anyone use that these days? Anyhoo, he’s so happy with his performance that he starts flexing his gluteous maximum for the folks in the crowd.
We then go to some pre-recorded comments from women who are asked if they’d like to get the Rude Awakening from Rick. Their answers all seem to be yes, but they note uniformly that their husband wouldn’t be too happy about it. One even tells us her husband is a prison guard, sadly teasing a Rick Rude-Big Bossman feud we never got.
Rude continues to toss Evans around like a pile of garbage then we get some more swiveling. In fact, I think Rude has done more gyrations in this match than actual wrestling maneuvers. Come on Evans, show some fight!
The match ends of course with Rick delivering the Rude Awakening…
…then giving some girl the thrill of her life with the OTHER Rude Awakening. What a delightful slimeball Rude is – there’ll never be another one like him!
