Very saddened to hear of the passing of Andy Williams, aka The Butcher in AEW. I never met him personally, but from everything I’ve heard he was a great guy…and I have to cheer for anyone who partners with a guy named Blade, right?
So here he is coming down to ringside and he looks for all the world like the scariest man you’ve ever met. I mean, he’d be 10x scarier if he was still sporting the monocle he wore in his earliest appearances in the company, but I digress.
So he starts stomping around the ring and his opponent comes up with a great idea – I should jump off the top rope and take this guy down with a missile dropkick.
Which Butcher promptly brushes off like it was nothing. This geek turns to celebrate and when he spins around and see Butch there no selling? Well, give him credit he throws about a million forearms in rapid succession. But they do no damage at all and Butcher levels him with just one of his own.
Butcher clobbers his foe with a mighty chop, then throws him into the turnbuckle to level him with an even mightier clothesline. Finally, he picks him up and gives him a vicious powerbomb, pinning him while it looks like he’s taking a dump. Anyone else does that and it looks stupid. Butcher does it and it looks amazing. RIP Butcher – you will definitely be missed!!
