Vince McMahon thought people would love his World Bodybuilding Federation.

He put on two WBF Championship Pay-Per-Views and later released them on VHS.

WBF Championship 1991 trade ad

and a weekly “Bodystars” TV show that aired on the USA network.

He even published “WBF Bodybuilding Lifestyles” magazine!

You know… So you can watch oily, buff muscly men flexing and posing with a smile over and over again in the comfort of your own…

Gay Popeye

“SOLD! Gimmie those VHS tapes and magazines! And I’ll takesk a bottle of Jergins too… uh for me dry skin- the sea breeze can be rough on a sailor’s skin! Yeah, that’s it! And some tissue cause… um, I gotsk a cold. UG-GUG-GUG-GUG!”

Anyway, the WBF failed miserably, Vince lost $15 million on it, and it closed within 2 years.

That almost makes the XFL seem like a good idea by comparison, doesn’t it?

That still didn’t stop Vince from investing in and promoting the ICOPRO bodybuilding supplement, though…

I’ve always wanted to do that. As another wholly unexpected tie-in to Srsstlcrap Radio, as I write this, I just realized that I was listening to “Tammy” by Debbie Reynolds. No joke.

  2. Thomas says:

I was I could edit; that should obviously read Wrestlecrap Radio.

  3. John C says:

I imagine the upbeat awesome Coliseum Video music tag at the beginning of the old WWF tapes was replaced with the sounds of grunts and 70’sesque WA!! WA!! WA!! porno soundtrack for this junk. Pat Patterson must have kept this bad boy on his night table for his own personal Montreal Screwjob if you know what I mean, wink wink nudge nudge. Srsstlcrap Radio where only snakes, shakes and steaks are spoken of, brought to you by Sizzler.

I’m pretty sure I was once bought a WBF magazine by my grandmother who meant well. Probably the same grandmother who bought me Star Warriors figures and the Tiger games version of Super Mario.

I always wondered how Popeye got those forearms. Now I know.

  6. Sean Bateman says:

the WBF is more gayer than Vince singing Stand Back and seeing Vince doing that was pretty gay

  7. Radtke says:

Bodystars wasn’t syndicated it occupied the 10 9 central time slot on USA. Once cancelled Mania would take it over

  8. Mister Forth says:

Quite a humiliating moment for him to see this end badly.

  9. Doc 902714 says:

Upgrade the VHS copies of the WBF to DVD and the magazines to NextIssue and…..I still wouldn’t buy it.

  10. Anonymous says:

No one ever asked for this ever.

  11. John Silva says:

I actually JUST bought this on eBay. Still looking for 1991. I’m in the middle of a huge project to convert digitally EVERY Coliseum Video to HD and these count as well.
