Been too long my friends since we’ve had a mailbag…so let’s jump right in and see what y’all have to say!
Michael W kicks us off with…”Do you have a favorite old-school wrestling TV studio? (TBS Saturday, Mid-South, GCW etc)”
So many to choose from! Not sure if it was the characters on display there, but it is really hard for me to put anything other than Memphis at the top. Just the combination of Dave Brown and Lance Russell…they just seemed like friends you’d go have a burger with, and the studio carried that over as well as it resembled a living room that someone hastily made over by the kids to do a pretend wrestling show. Absolutely love it.
David S looks for I think marital advice with…”Someone told me collecting wrestling figures is a stupid waste of time. How do I tell my wife to butt out?”
Crazy thing is I know I have a giant garbage bag of those in the attic and I am certain they are worth zero dollars and less cents. Despite that, there’s zero way I’d want to give those up. Plus someone made me a custom Gobbeldy Gooker figure, which will forever be the pride of my collection. It’s kinda the same with my Simpsons stuff, which I was certain was going to be worth Mr. Burns’ fortune. All worth it for the Weird Al Simpsons figure (and yes, I have the Bret Hart one as well). All I can say is find a wife that will put up with whatever ridiculousness you need in your life – Mrs. Deal tolerates my arcade/pinball stuff, you think she cares about some wrestling figures?
Mike M heads to the not too distant future with…”Have you seen the new MST3k Rifftrax episode in the theater?”
Absolutely, how could I miss Sting of Death? It was also like visiting old friends, not unlike the feeling I got when I went a few months ago to Spinal Tap II: The End Continues. Which means I am feeling really, really old these days. Anyone with me on that?
Rob N is apparently hungry and thus asks…”Would you ever consider dining at an AEW-themed restaurant?”
While the thought of a Osburger with a Moxshake and a side of Fletcher Fries is a delightful idea, I don’t think that even Tony Khan is enough of a lunatic to attempt this money losing endeavor. Like doing the videogame I get. But trying to get into the restaurant game, nah, hard pass.

Is it weird I wouldn’t want him as a manager, but would prefer him doing commentary? If he were to have a stable, give him to folks that need a mouthpiece and let them learn from the master. Turn Steve Borden heel on his dad, and let The Brain have his way. Good times for sure!

It is a crying shame we don’t get more of them on TV.
Maybe they think they’ll never top this incredible bit where they discovered each other in the woods?

It’s funny, I generally don’t watch a ton of that, as I get plenty of wrestling news via podcasts from Bryan and the gang at F4Wonline.com. I don’t watch those as I listen to them as I ride my bike instead. Also be sure to check out Bryan’s latest book, which you can purchase rightchere!

This year has had so many incredible matches it would be a matter of preference. Give me Ospreay vs. Omega though. I honestly think I will be able to watch Will’s entrance until my last breath and never grow tired of it, and the match itself was even better.
Simon JL goes dark via…”Would you ever consider being involved in a Netflix documentary or be part of a Dark Side of the Ring episode?”
Technically, I’ve been on Dark Side before, but you have to REALLY pay attention to catch it. On the Earthquake episode, they used clips from WrestleCrap Radio with my blessing. They are more than welcome to reach back out, they seemed like nice enough folk.

We got some old school Crappers in the house! I’ve been pondering what to do with the WrestleCrap Radio archives for a while, seems a shame that isn’t easily accessible online somewhere. There’s a lot of stuff on those old shows that absolutely would not fly today, but so much of it was really funny. I dunno…what should we do here? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
