New York, NY – Late night talk show fans were stunned following the news that The Abraham Washington Show would be replacing The Late Show on CBS.

The television station shocked the world last week by announcing the sudden and unexpected cancellation of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Despite high ratings and a loyal fanbase, CBS ended the show after a remarkable 33 years.

At a press conference early this morning, the national station announced a replacement for the popular show.

“We feel it’s time to move in a new direction and we’re excited to introduce The Abraham Washington Show to the late-night audience,” said CBS spokeswoman Roberta Flacke. “Abraham has experience hosting shows and interviewing guests and is comfortable in front of a live audience.”

When asked how this decision was made, Flacke deflected.

“It was a long, and arduous process finding something to replace The Late Show,” she said quickly. “We came to our decision on our own and not at the insistence of any government officials named Linda M. No, wait. That’s too obvious. L McMahon.”

“I am excited for the new beginning of The Abraham Washington show!” boasted Abraham Washington. “From ECW to CBS! We’ve made it! We’re coming for you, Fallon!”

“AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!” laughed Washington’s sidekick Tony Atlas.

Industry insiders are already predicting that the show will be canceled faster than The Chevy Chase Show.
