New York, NY – WWE Superstar Danhausen was awarded with the key to New York City following the New York Knicks winning their first NBA Championship in 53 years.
The new “King of New York” received the oversized item outside of Madison Square Garden early Monday morning alongside members of the team.
“Teamwork. Determination. Curses. This is what helped us become champions,” said team captain Jalen Brunson. “Today, we are all Champ-hausens!”
Thousands of New Yorkers came out to show their support for their basketball team and to thank Danhausen for uncursing the team while also cursing their opponents. While most analysts credit the coaches and players, the fans have pointed towards magic powers as the main reason for the historic win.
“With this golden key from the New York Knickerbockers, I am now allowed to enter all of your homes, businesses, and bank vaults,” declared the very evil, very nice wrestler. “Oh, yes, this is quite heavy and expensive. Worth many human monies. It will not fit on my keyring.”
Despite the key being ceremonial, Danhausen was later seen trying to use the it to enter city hall, the Empire State Building, and Katz’s Delicatessen.
