Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – WWE’s upcoming premium live event Crown Jewel has been moved to a local neighborhood bingo hall less.
The venue change, which is occurring one week before the event, was necessary following credible safety threats. Despite a new outdoor arena being built specifically for Crown Jewel, WWE officials agreed to an indoor option nearby.
Local sisters Dorothea and Gladys Al-Harbi have opened up the Al Nakheel Bingo Hall to host the event.
“Well, we got a call from that nice wrestling man Mr. Triple asking if he can host a little show here,” explained Gladys. “We said, ‘Sure, come on in, just put down your 282 SAR deposit and the place is yours. Just try not to scuff up the floors.’”
“Oh, it’d very exciting,” said Dorothea. “I’m even making my special ambrosia salad in case any of the folks get hungry.”
While WWE is unable to use their usual pyro, sound system, extravagant entrances, and camera setup, officials have assured both wrestlers and fans that the event will go off as normal. As long as they’re finished by 8 o’clock, because the Riyadh Kiwanis have the hall rented for their monthly spaghetti dinner fundraiser.
