For a while in AEW’s earlier days, it seemed like Wardlow was set to become a breakout star. For one reason or another, it has not happened. I choose to believe that turning him into an ice cream bar for this trading card has something to do with it.
Wrestling fans seem to yearn for the old WWF ice cream bars, so maybe that’s what they were going for? After all, AEW did just recently have their own ice pops at San Diego Comic Con. It’s the dog days of summer, so a cool treat does sound nice, but I don’t think Wardlow has a rich, chocolatey outer shell with cold vanilla ice cream in the middle. Hmmm. Maybe that’s why he never got too hot with the company. He would melt!
