Philadelphia, PA – AEW head Tony Khan has is hosting a week-long residency at the former Travelodge in South Philadelphia to coincide with AEW’s second week at the former ECW Arena.
Now a Holiday Inn, the infamous hotel was known for scenes of debauchery usage during ECW’s heyday. Nicknamed the “cylinder of sin”, the Travelodge was the location for numerous drug and sex-fueled escapades that have since become wrestling legends.
“I really wanted the full ECW experience,” said Tony Khan, walking towards his room. “AEW’s residency at The 2300 Arena has been a dream come true. You can really fill the grit and intensity of those old matches I grew up watching. It only makes sense to stay at this hotel and immerse myself in ECW-ness.”
While the hotel itself has seen improvements since the 90’s, Khan still appreciated the less-than-white-collar accommodations he was used to having.
“Only 12 television channels? One-ply toilet paper? No room service after 10pm? I’m just like New Jack and Sandman!” said a the giddy AEW leader. “Tod is God? Well, Khan is the mhan!”
