Decatur, IL – Longtime professional wrestling fan Carl Fulton is reportedly being haunted by the defunct WCW Hotline.
“I was flipping through old WCW magazines and saw an ad for the WCW Hotline,” explained a shaken Fulton. “You know, the one with Mean Gene Okerlund giving you all the inside wrestling scoops? Well, just for fun I thought I’d call the line, not expecting anything. Instead of getting that disconnected tone, I swear I heard someone breathing on the other line before hanging up.”
Fuller says that he began receiving eerie calls started Saturday at exactly midnight.
“My phone rang the number was 1-900-909-9900, the old hotline number. I thought it was weird, so I just let it go to voicemail,” said Fulton. “When I listened back, I swear I heard Mean Gene talking about Scott Norton possibly leaving the NWO, a new stipulation match at Halloween Havoc, and the whereabouts of Lt Loco.”
The calls have continued, every hour on the hour, reporting rumors and gossip for a wrestling company that has been dead for over 20 years.
“I don’t know what to do,” lamented a terrified Fulton. “I blocked the number. I turned off the phone. I even took out the batteries, but the calls keep coming! Now I know all about two wrestlers that are rumored to be leaving the company, but the information is too sensitive to be said on TV!”
Adding to his woes, the telephone company has been charging Fulton $1.69 per minute and is questioning if he got his parents’ permission.
