Chris Van Vliet Interviews The WWF Blue Steel Cage

Chris Van Vliet interview WWF WWE steel cage

Studio City, CA – Beloved interviewer Chris Van Vliet sat down this week for an in-depth one-on-one with WWF’s blue steel cage.

The classic bars were synonymous with the wrestling company from the mid-80’s to mid-90’s. Their involvement with classic matches at Saturday Night’s Main Event, Wrestlemania, and Summerslam solidified the cage’s placement in wrestling history. Since their retirement in the late 90’s, not much has been heard from the blue steel.

The two sat down for a lengthy interview, going over how the cage started out in the business, it’s first big break, recounting several famous moments, and what it’s been doing over the past few years.

One particular moment of the discussion that stood out was when the conversation shifted to former WWF Champion, Hulk Hogan.

“You worked with Hogan several times during the height of his popularity. What was that like?” asked Chris Van Vliet.

“………..” said the blue steel bars.

“Hahaha!” laughed Van Vliet.

The interview reached a touching moment when Van Vliet showed the blue steel cage a photo of the two together.

“This is me and you, 1995 in Toronto. You were in the main event between Bret Hart and Hakushi,” explained Chris Van Vliet. “I waited out by the loading docks after the show. My dad snapped a picture and you signed my program. Look how young we were!”

So far, the response to the interview has been overwhelmingly positive, with clips on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter racking up hundreds of thousands of views. A movement has started among fans online to have the classic WWF blue steel cage make an appearance during the Royal Rumble or even be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
