Dusty Rhodes Delivers Americana Pizza

When he arrived in the WWF, Dusty Rhodes worked all sorts of odd jobs to show how he was the common man. One of those included delivering Americana Pizza. While some may question the wisdom of making a former NWA World Heavyweight Champion an average blue collar shmo, you can question giving Dusty a shirt with “PIZZA” written in Sharpie. I bet you could sell those on Pro Wrestling Tees and make a pretty penny.

Asylum Pro Wrestling Loves Scotto’s Pizza

If you ever find yourself in Clearfield, Pennsylvania and have a hankering for some pizza, head on over to Scotto’s. They have the seal of approval from Asylum Pro Wrestling. Sure, it’s low budget and yeah, maybe some of the shots are out of focus, but you can’t beat that small town local pizzeria charm. Hey, if El Gigantor likes it, it must be good. As long as it’s not Altoona-style.

William Regal Meets Dusty Rhodes

In this quick clip, William Regal (or Steven Regal if you prefer) recounts meeting Dusty Rhodes for the first time in WCW. Thankfully, there’s no footage of this, but Regal describing a naked Dusty as a “melted sundae” is so perfectly descriptive that we don’t need to see it.

UltraMantis Black Music Video

A while back, former Chikara Grand Champion UltraMantis Black dipped his toe (or mask?) into the world of heavy metal by putting out an album on well-known record label Relapse Records. He even released a music video for the song “Biomonster USA”. His sludgy brand of hardcore makes me want to throw down in the ring instead of the mosh pit. Just don’t dropkick me into the merch table.

The Goldbergs Show Off Old WWF Toys

Wrestling and sitcoms have been covered on Wrestlecrap before, usually due to some awkward in-ring action being shoehorned into an episode. The Goldbergs was a pretty good modern sitcom that served as a big love letter to the 80’s, so you know they’d get to mentioning wrestling eventually.

In this scene, father and all-around crank Murray Goldberg bans wrestling in the house. We’re hit with a bunch of nostalgia as sons Barry and Adam rattle off WWF toys from the era. I had the thumb wrestlers, the ring and LJN figures, and some wrestling buddies. Which toys did you have?
