It Came From YouTube

The Blue Angel Debuts!

WWE Vault has done a great job giving us long-time fans the obscure videos we’ve wanted to see for years. Long-rumored matches that never saw the light of day, forgotten debuts, unknown dark matches. Really, lots of cool stuff.

While that’s all great, it’s still hard to beat the dedicated and obsessive fans that taped everything, kept the cassettes in good condition, and thought to upload them to Youtube.

Case in point: The debut match of Blue Angel.

Before he was The King of Harts or The Black Hart or even The Blue Blazer, Owen Hart was the Blue Angel. One could argue that the name was slightly better than being named after a colorful jacket. One could not argue that the mask was better than The Blue Blazer.

Regardless, Angel takes flight for the first time in this lengthy and competitive match against our favorite back-slapper, Barry Horowitz. It’s not really a squash because it goes on for so long, Horowitz has some decent offense (that kick!) and even gets a 2-count pin.

I know we’re all a bit jaded with wrestling and it takes a lot to get excited these days, but watch as the audience gets behind Blue Angel towards the end. Seriously, look at this guy’s face after he hits a moonsault.

Blue Angel debut WWF

He’s losing his mind over this masked newcomer. That’s actually really fun to see, just like it’s really fun to see this lesser-known debut for a future Intercontinental Champion.

WWF Nursery Commercial

People nostalgically look back on WWF’s Attitude Era, but not everything was great. Take this weird nursery commercial that involves two separate bodily function jokes in less than 15 seconds. Does this make you want to watch wrestling? No, but at least Baby Rock looks cute. Is this canonically the start of Young Rock?

Disco Inferno Parodies Konnan’s Music Video

Everyone likes a good parody and that is especially true when it comes to pro wrestling. It’s done wonders for Joe Hendry (clap clap). Looking back at Disco Inferno parodying Konnan’s music video for WCW, you can see why it was so easy to hate him, but in a fun way. I’m not sure which I enjoy more; the awkward dancing, Disco saying “Viva La Raza” or the fact that he’s holding up a sheet of paper with the lyrics.

IRS Tells Us Why We Should Pay Our Taxes

It’s time to pay your taxes. Yes, again. Thankfully, IRS is here to tell us alllll the reasons why we should pay our taxes. Make sure to cross your T’s, dot your I’s, carry the one, and double-check your ‘To Do‘ pile.

IRS On A UK Children’s Show

IRS was always relentless in his pursuit of getting people to pay their taxes. While I don’t think his powers crossed into other countries or to children, Irwin R Schyster appeared on this UK children’s show.

It’s fun to see him jaw back and forth with a cartoon cat. It’s also interesting to hear IRS admit that WWF is “Sports Entertainment”. If only we had the wrestling tax man go up against Hacker T. Dog. Even normal, innocent men have to pay their taxes.

Do any of our UK readers know what show this is from? Have other wrestlers been on it. Let us know in the comments!
