The Undertaker SQUASHES The Iron Sheik!

The Undertaker Iron Sheik

I guess to show that Nitro wasn’t the only place to see matches you didn’t think could have ever possibly happened, we head over to Prime Time Wrestling and get a battle of two men who would hold the WWF World Title. You see kids, once upon a time (that time specifically being early 1992), the Undertaker stepped into the ring with the Iron Sheik.

This would of course be right around the the time Taker turned babyface to get him ready to square off with Jake “The Snake” Roberts at WrestleMania VIII. So much to take in with this clip above. Do I start with the fact that someone apparently made a giant postcard addressed to the Undertaker? Should I ask if anyone ever actually bought that horrific shirt where Taker’s eyes appear to be bleeding? Or should I question, once again, how Danny Davis, who was suspended for life due to shady officiating, was magically just a referee once more with no real reason ever given? Twenty seconds in and my mind is already spinning.

So Taker goes through his pre-match ritual, but Sheik (who at this point was rechristened Colonel Mustafa) decides his best chance to win is by sneak attacking his foe. That goes just as well as you’d expect, with him getting a grand total of two punches in before Taker chops him once, then spins him upside down for the tombstone. I guess Mark wasn’t being paid by the hour that night. To be fair, it’s just as well – early Taker kinda sucked, and end of run Sheik sucked even more. Thank goodness this was just a SQUASH!
