I have something of a love-hate relationship with Paul Wight, formerly known as the Big Show in WWE. I love that he ended my in-ring career (one of the best things that ever happened to me!), I hate that I’ve never been able to apologize to him for having no idea what I was doing when he had to muscle me up for a choke slam on that fateful night in Hope, Indiana of all places. Here’s to a make good by posting this SQUASH of the Week in which he destroys some jabronies.
Three jabronies in fact, each with a three letter name. We have RSP, VSK, and CPA, all of which are apparently making AEW trios debut! By golly, a win here would shoot them right up the ranks!
VSK kicks things off, wanting a test of strength. Big Paul literally laughs at the guy and asks, “YOU?” Undeterred, the guy turns and FLEXES. Pretty sure that’s the universal sign that means, “Yes, ME!”
So he gets his test of strength which he loses immediately. The CPA jumps in and, well, his stock goes down as well. Finally RSP looks to add his might in an effort to turn the tide. Wight knocks them all straight to the mat, and poor RSP lands in such a manner that his head angles off his shoulders at nearly 90 degrees.
CPA gets thrown into the corner and Wight pulls off his tie. I think it’s a clip on! Wight tears away his shirt and hits a chop that as fans at ringside gasping. RSP comes back and tries…something…and is promptly thrown over the top rope and to the floor.
Paul throws two of these buffoons together and we get more chops next, in a two for one special. Poor CPA looks to have had enough and goes crawling away.
Wight gives the choke slam hand gesture, but Geek #3 knows that even the biggest man can be felled by a kick to the nads. Sadly for him, Wight just closes his legs to block it. Why don’t more folks do that? Seems pretty effective! Oh and he also punches the guy in the jaw to take him out of the equation.
Double chokeslam finshes and we get a big smile as well! Who doesn’t love a happy giant? Here’s hoping that Wight gets at least a few more SQUASHES in before he hangs up the boots for good!
