WWE WCW Starrcade 2000 shirtWWE WCW Greed shirt

Crapper Paul S. writes:

Apparently someone in WWE’s marketing department decided to issue some throwback shirts to classic pay-per-views. But what classic WCW events did they chose? Well for starters there’s Starcade 2000. I’m not sure if anyone would want one in 2000 much less now…

There’s also this WCW Greed shirt. Yes WWE actually made an ironic T-shirt of WCW’s last ever pay-view. Hey it would make a great gift to go with your new copy of Death of WCW.

WWE making shirts of two of WCW’s worst (and yes, last) PPVs out of spite… That’s so petty and stupid that it kind of fits in with how WWE has been pissing on WCW’s grave since they bought the company.

I can’t imagine a WCW fan actually buying either of these shirts, making their production completely pointless.

  1. The Scanian Maniac says:

    Starrcade, according to Wikipedia, is:

“widely regarded as WCW’s counterpart to WrestleMania”

Wouldn’t WCW fans remember it for more than the one they held in 2000?

  2. John C says:

Watching the old Starrcades on the network has been my favorite things on there. All I had from the first few were old bootleg vhs copies so that has been sweet. Yeah quie a difference from Magnum T.A.-Tully Blanchard to the later Starrcades of The Mamalukes-Disc Inferno & Lash Leroux.

  3. Guilty Party says:

Well, they also have one available for WCW Sin…
Maybe they’re working backwards to eventually reach logos for good events?

  4. Mister Forth says:

Seems funny they put these out after finally working something out with Sting.

  5. Guest says:

Where’s my Solded Out 2000 Shirt?

  6. John Q Occupier says:

I would pay good money for a Halloween Havoc 1991 t-shirt…

  7. the14thListener says:

Yikes, I have the original WCW issue from Starcade 2000 in Washington DC and am going to plop it on eBay one of these days. I didn’t go to the show, it was a promotional thing one of my buddies gave me.

  8. Vince725 says:

It would be nice to get a Bash at the Beach 94 shirt and at least one Halloween Havoc shirt, especially 91 and 95.

  9. Danadax says:

I got bash at the beach (possibly 97 logo) and fall brawl (1998?) about six months ago.. cost me more to ship them to England than I paid for the t-shirts, worth every penny though. I believe there was a Halloween Havoc one and Great American Bash at the same time from the WWE shop.

  10. Alexandru says:

Yeah WWE is just beyond petty with their obsession of making WCW look awful. They need to focus on their less than stellar product instead of still being bitter that a company from years ago almost legitimately beat them.

    • Cenamark says:

Its really telling how WWE never “got” WCW. Even till this day, even after the bitterness of the Monday Night Wars have faded, they still just don’t get it. I’m not sure if they purposely do this, but its incredibly stupid considering the vast overlap between WCW and WWE fans.

  11. Barry says:

Where’s my King of the Ring 1995 t-shirt?

  12. Paul S says:

Actually Greed was a pretty entertaining show thanks to the awesome cruiserweight tag tournament and a fun Scott Steiner vs DDP main event. The thing is no one bought it because everyone knew Nitro was being canceled on TNT and the whole promotion was was going to go down the tubes. Thus it was actually the least successful WCW PPV in the company’s history. (The second and third worst were Uncensored 2000 and the Slamboree 2000 featuring David Arquette’s main event title defense.)

  13. Jerm says:

They did have at one point the Fall Brawl 2000 design, which was a pretty awesome orange sunset behind a set of brown leaves forming a skull design.

  14. AdamX says:

    I want my Heatwave 98 and November 2 Remember 97 t-shirts!

  15. Matt Soileau says:

A shirt. For WCW Greed of all things? WOW!
