WWF Bushwhackers Lovely Mother shirt

According to this shirt, The Bushwhackers think something is lovely…er… “luvly” and I should tell my mother (?).

Is this some kind of charming New Zealand expression or something?

I found this shirt on eBay and the seller had the Buy It Now set for $150!

My mother would disapprove of ms spending $150 on this shirt, no matter how luvly it is.

It’s really funny since over in The UK it would be considered offensive using bloody like that. So all the time during their WWF run as faces they were secretly insulting people, I guess they were smarter than they look. Or as smart as you can look while randomly licking strangers’ faces while thrusting your arms up and down.

Isn’t “Lovely, tell your mother” (or variations thereof) a UK expression as opposed to New Zealand? (Oddly, I heard it in an American film that took place in London and whoever said it may not have been from the UK or NZ, for all I know…)

To this day I’m still trying to reconcile The Bushwackers with The Sheephearders…and the fact they gave me nightmares in completely different ways.

It’s like realizing “Stunning” Steve Austin is also “Cold Stone” Steve Austin…it’s just….mind boggling.

I hear ya. It’s kind of amazing how a gimmick change can change your perception of a wrestler (for the good or bad).

I read somewhere that the Sheepherders were an evil duo. Is that true? My mind is blown and somewhere in the universe a new black hole in the fabric of space and time has been ripped open.

    • John C says:

Isn’t that just a relative term? If you were on their side they weren’t evii, they just happened to like hitting people in the head with flags. Besides how could anyone who herded sheep for a career at some point ever truly be considered evil. Unless of course they were herding evil sheep than that’s just frankly inexcusable on their parts and probably would be indefensible at that point. They also showed a charitable side by employing Rip Morgan who really wasn’t all that skilled and kept him off the street. So before slandering such good folk just remember they have hopes, dreams, feelings and in The Sheepherders case sardines just like anyone else.

Damn, i used to have that shirt when I was a kid! To think I could have been $150 richer if I had kept it…
