I was browsing through some pictures of 1995 WWF trading cards (it’s a cornucopia of WrestleCrap gimmicks!) on this excellent wrestling trading card site.
I like this card because it shows ol’ Duke “The Dumpster” Droese on the job in the garbage dump… which is appropriate because mid-90’s WWF often reminds me of a garbage dump…
Okay, so he’s a garbage man- am I supposed to Cheer him, or Boo him?
And why?!
The picture is probably an accurate depiction of what he is currently doing today.
He’s a special needs teacher now, when he’s not selling drugs.

I remember liking Duke Drose. I thought he would rise above his gimmick like Triple H ended up doing.
Maybe … but Vince only had one daughter.
What about Shane?
You can tell the whole minimizing the wrestling philosophy started here. Most trading cards show athletes in action.
Duke was a bit ahead of his time. Had he been in the late-90s Attitude Era, he would’ve been great in dumpster matches and hardcore matches with his signature trash can.
