First of all, happy holidays to all my fellow Crappers out there! I hope you all get to have some fun with family, friends, and loved ones. And before you all ask, yes, the annual non-wrestling Christmas induction is hitting Tuesday night this week! It’s completely insane and think you will love it. In the meantime, let’s see what questions y’all have for me this week…
Chad A kicks us off with…”Since there’s been a lot debate about Cena’s retirement match? How would you book a retirement match? Something like what Sting got in AEW? Or the “time honored tradition” of losing?”
I think it was stupid to have him lose. That “time honored tradition” stuff is a load of crap and even if you ever bought into it, times change and as Sting’s retirement showed us you can go out on the winning side and have it be a true feel good moment. And having a guy who has spent twenty years selling “Never Give Up” shirts giving up is idiotic. I really thought this company would have done this in a smarter manner, but one day I will learn they remain stuck in their dumb ways. And just so that Adam W knows I didn’t miss his follow up to this, I thought Goldberg losing in his last hurrah was dumb too.
Arya W continues the hustle, loyalty, and respect by asking…”Do you have a favorite John Cena match or feud?”
Can’t believe I am saying this, but the one I remember best was his feud with the Miz.
Probably because Maryse has never, ever looked better than when she was cosplaying Nikki Bella. Wowzers!
Robert R wants to know…”Favorite Rob Reiner film?”
I know most folks will put The Princess Bride at the top of their list, but considering This is Spinal Tap is one of my top five movies in history, gotta go with that. I also really loved the newer one, if you’ve not seen it, it’s worth a watch even if it’s not close to the original. Should also note I absolutely love When Harry Met Sally as well. I quote Carrie Fisher’s “You’re right, you’re right, I know you’re right” at least a couple times a week if not more.
Sean B asks…”Is Lance Cassidy, aka Road Dogg’s brother’s WWE gimmick from the early 90s, considered Wrestlecrap?”
Yes, I inducted him years and year ago. Not sure if it made it over in the latest redesign, but for sure I wrote that up over twenty years ago.
Jarvis G wants us all chanting USA USA by inquiring…”There’s been a lot of anti-United States angles/heels over the decades. Which do you think was the most effective? I was a massive fan of Bret Hart’s 1997 heel United States/face Canada. Thoughts?”
I thought Bret was incredible in that run, definitely. In fact, that may have been the best angle Bret was ever involved in, and I say that as a huge Bret fan dating back to the earliest days of the Hart Foundation in mid 80’s WWF.
Cyndi S fires up the Bat Signal…”I just got my mom the entire 1966 run of Batman on Blu-Ray for Christmas. She grew up with the show and loved it. What episodes from the run do you highly recommend for her to watch?”
That’s like asking a parent who their favorite kid is. But I’d go with any of the Julie Newmar Catwoman eps, and you can never go wrong with the Joker ones. People love to rag on season three (and that’s easy to do considering the absurd and very obvious budget cuts), but the one where Joker and Batman have a surfing contest is classic. And never sleep on a Frank Gorshin Riddler show. They’re all classic, just watch ’em all.
Mike M asks…”What are your thoughts on Philip Rivers’ comeback this year?”
I LOVE IT. Despite the fact he only played for Indy for one season, he’s one of my favorite Colts players ever and I was so sad when he left. His golly and daggum press conferences make up for the fact he can’t throw the ball more than 15 yards without it wobbling through the air in the most comical manner possible. As much as I’d love the Colts to sneak into the playoffs, my personal amusement trumps wins and losses, so I hope Papaw Phil sticks around for the next ten years.
Chris S gets us back in the ring with…”Ok, I’ll bite. Who is your favorite to win the Continental Classic this year?”
Want Speedball, but know that won’t happen. It’s too bad, because that guy is incredible. Guessing they will wind up with Okada vs. Takeshita, and they’ll strap the rocket to push Takeshita to the moon. Could also go to Fletcher, and I wouldn’t argue that one either. That tourney is so stuffed with talent it’s absurd.
Matt H wants to add to our to do list with…”Will you please induct that horrendous No Disqualification match between triple H and Jim Ross from Monday night raw on April 18th, 2005?”

Added to our sheet!
Aaron P ponders…”Now that the John Cena retirement tour is over, how well do you think the WWE handled it? Did they do the best they could given the circumstances, or should we look forward to it being inducted on this very site?”
You should look forward to it being up for the Gooker award…with voting opening up very soon!
Ron M knows Santa is coming to town as he wants to know…”What’s your favorite Christmas memory growing up?”
That’s a pretty easy one, as I was hoping one year to get a disk drive for my Atari 1200XL computer. The reason? I had a friend who could dupe disks of all the games for that system (aye, matey)! I was pretty sure I was getting that 1050 drive, and was so excited for it that I literally did not fall asleep the entire night. I kept waiting for the rest of my family to wake up, and they finally did about 6am. I ripped through the presents under the tree and not only did I get that drive, I also got an OkiData color printer! That led to a life long love of printing that I still have to this day.
Ralph A wraps us up with…”I think I hear dogs barking jingle bells”
Me too! Merry Christmas everyone! Have a good one and we’ll open the mailbag back up once again in the new year!
