The endless Steve Austin “What?” audience chants were bad enough.
Then WWE decided to capitalize on it with this stupid “What?” t-shirt.

I have one… Big whoop, you wanna fight about it?
There was a variant of this shirt, though it wasn’t for sale.
When Austin left in 2002, the next Raw magazine cover had Austin wearing this shirt, only “What?” had been photoshopped so that it read “Why?”
I understand the problem that its critics have with it, but I think “What?” was great and love that it is still used by crowds!
You know, I’ve heard of people not liking the What chants before. They STILL make me laugh. Audience trolling/hijacking is the greatest.
I still pine for an “Owen 3:16: I Just Broke Your Neck” shirt.
Sigh.
Most annoying catchphrase ever.
I’m with the Big Cheese on this one, I fear. The first time was funny, the next thousand times not so…
…so you can only guess how funny I find them now.
😛
Jim Neidhart really missed his opportunity to return as the masked What. The fans have been cheering his name for years!
Surely you mean to say that Neidhart was the masked “Who”, am I correct?
:: waits a beat ::
What? What? Wh-aaaah, pathetic!
