In the mid-80’s L.J.N released a series of Stretch Wrestlers:
George “The Animal” Steele
Hulk Hogan
Junkyard Dog
King Kong Bundy
“Mr. Wonderful” Paul Orndorff
“Macho Man” Randy Savage
Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat
“Rowdy” Roddy Piper
If you were a kid in the 70’s (or 90’s) you’ll remember the Stretch Armstrong toy:
…where you could pull it and stretch it and it would return back to its original shape.
Well, the Stretch Wrestlers were the same thing, but cooler since they were wrestlers!
The bad part is that after one too many stretches, they’d start to lose their ability to retain their shape and they’d tear, leaking corn syrup all over your mom’s living room carpet.
And that is why they are WrestleCrap!
Did any of you Crappers have any of these Stretch Wrestlers?
This just seems pointless.
Currently on E-Bay, Macho Man has a $350 asking price and The Animal checks in at $200. Stretch Armstrong, the best known of Bullet Bob’s kids had to be one of the greatest toys I ever had. What a bummer no Iron Sheik figure and he loved the abdominal stretch even if he never hooked his foot over the proper way.
oh LJN, no wonder why the Angry Video Game Nerd calls you Laughing Joking Numbnuts…..
I had Stretch Armstrong in the late 70’s, and Stretch Macho Man in the 80’s (brother had Steamboat.) 70’s Stretch had the RED corn syrup inside, whereas the WWF stretches had some type of powder inside…
“Some kind of powder”… IcoPro, maybe? 🙂
So THAT would explain why my brother had a full-on moustache at age 9!!!
Didn’t have the wrestlers, but we did have the 1990s Stretch Armstrong doll.
We also had that inflatable red supervillain thing that you could buy with him (I think it worked with Stretch as well).
VacMan?

Yep, that’s the one. Apparently I had it backwards lol.
