Steve Blackman Gold Trading Card

Crapper Chris found this beautiful and stunning (okay, it’s really neither of those things but I wanted to class the joint up a bit) Steve Blackman gold trading card on eBay and writes:

I have a hard time believing this weird all gold collectors card of The Lethal Weapon Steve Blackman is a real thing. I mean, I know I am looking at it, and to some degree it must exist, but its existence is so bizarre. Any card of anything done to look like a cheap gold etching seems strange to me. Doing one of a wrestler takes that up a notch, and that wrestler being Steve Blackman, makes this quite unusual.

Two other quick things. First, the picture of Blackman looks like Randy Orton. Second, maybe it is just the way this card was photographed, but Blackman appears to have magic glowing eyes like he’s some sort of ghost or ghoul, which is pretty awesome. On the other hand, his opponent seems to be glowing in a very different region.! I bet that URL’s not taken!

Sometimes Steve Blackman’s eyes glow at you, and Who Ya Gonna Call?

Thanks for sending in this spooktacular (I just love that word) card, Chris!

As meh as this is it’s still better than half the merch that came out back then (or now [or ever]).

Ha ha, I almost forgot about these! Several years ago, I received one in the mail as a free sample. It featured The Rock putting Billy Gunn in a headlock, complete with those ridiculous “kisses” on Gunn’s tights/knee-pads, engraved in gold!

  3. John says:

It looks like he’s giving Jeff Hardy a bulldog then someone dropped the picture in turd.

Looks like a photo negative to me.

  5. THE Jeffry Mason says:

Stranger still (for me at least. Is the fact that it is a WWE card. Besides the Raw Battle Royal did he even wrestle in the E era? Could this be a sign of WWE putting him in the HOF this year?

PS. I did some research. Blackman really does have glowing magic eyes. They are the only thing known to be more powerful than a Chuck Norris roundhouse kick. True story!

    Head Cheese 4 life!!!

I received a 3 card sample(the rock, steve blackman, don’t remember the third) years ago, they were from the danburry mint or some company that sends you crap in the mail to order crap you can’t picture anyone ever buying. there were the 3 cards and a paper or two describing the other cards you could buy, if memory serves me correct

  7. Down With OPC says:

You’d think he’d be holding a kendo stick or something. Either way, I hope Steve Blackman comes back and is dressed like Goldust (or better yet, how about Goldust comes out dressed as Steve Blackman?).

  8. Hashington says:

Is he wrestling a dbz character?

  9. Jordan Mishkin says:

    Frozen In Carbonite Steve Blackman

  10. twilite_rider says:

Hey! A Chuck Norris reference. It’s even approved by Chuck Norris. (The Comment not the actual item in question.)

  11. 80's Guy says:

Would’ve been better if it had been a pose with a kendo stick or nunchakus, or doing one of his patented kicks.

  12. Raven7309 says:

Loved his entrance music. It suited him.perfectly.

  13. Combsy says:

I actually have one of these of Sgt. Slaughter.
