A real simple question to start the day.
In 20 years of Monday Night Raw, is Punk vs. Cena the greatest match in Raw history?

Was it the best ever? No…however it was a good match. Punk (and the road agents) got some moves out of Cena.
I’d say the Angle/Benoit cage match from 11/06/2001 was top, there’s also the HBK/Angle ironman match from 03/10/2005 and the Flair/Perfect match from 25/01/1993 to consider. It was a great match though.
No but it was good
Let’s also not forget the awesome Ric Flair vs. Mr. Perfect “Loser Leaves Town” match on the third episode of Raw. Also the never released on DVD Cena-Michaels Iron Man Match from ’05. Cena-Punk is the third greatest match in Raw history. That’s my Top 3.
I haven’t watched it yet, but I still hold Michaels/Benjamin in top regard.
Punk and Cena is pretty high up there with me as well, along with the Michaels-Cena Ironman from April 07, Rock-Mankind from January 99, and Lita-Trish from December 04.
I’d definitely rank it high up there. The Jericho & [STEVIE RICHARDS] vs. Austin & HHH was amazing. Definitely one of the best TV matches I’ve seen in 30+ years of watching wrestling.
Probably not the best ever, but best in a loooooooooong time.
The thing that was missing from making Cena/Punk the greatest match in Raw’s history was simple. Jim Ross wasn’t calling the match. If JR was calling the match, it probably would have gone to yet another level. For now, I’d put it up with the best of them, but not quite above Cena/HBK.
Nope, the greatest match in the history of RAW is Cena vs Michaels. Kinda of a amazing that Cena got decent matches out of guys as overrated as HBK and Punk
I wouldn’t say the best in the last TWENTY years, but definitely the best in the last two or three.
I think so.
If not the greatest, it’s in the top three, and it all depends on what you want in a match.
It’s not the Raw match I most enjoyed, but I think if I cared more about Punk or Cena, I’d have called it the best. And since anything else I can think of that I liked better had at least one wrestler I absolutely loved in it… Yes, yes I think it was the best.
It’s probably an all-time RAW top-ten match. I’d include, in some order, the Angle-Benoit cage match, Austin/HHH vs. Benoit/Jericho, Angle-HBK Iron Man, Cena-HBK from England, Bryan-Ziggler from 2010, Owen-Bulldog for the Euro Title, Rock/Foley/Rikishi/Too Cool vs. DX/Radicals from 2000, and Punk-Cena. There’s a top 8 anyway.
