It Came From YouTube: The Legion Of Doom Vs… The Legion Of Doom? See for yourself!

Fast forward to 3:46 into this video, and you can see The Legion Of Doom fight themselves (!) in the arcade game WWF WrestleFest.

Normally; The Legion Of Doom are the final boss characters in the game and you can’t actually play as them.

But, thanks to M.A.M.E and cheat files, you can hack into the game and play as L.O.D!

Which of course, means that eventually you (controlling L.O.D) fight the computer-controlled L.O.D at the end of the game.

Oh sure, it’s not as cool as Miss Elizabeth checking out your junk, but that’s still pretty awesome!

Winners Don’t Use Drugs(™), but they do cheat at video games.

One of the greatest arcade games of all time, one of the greatest wrestling games of all time, and even one of the greatest video games of all time PERIOD.

If I ever have the money saved, I would totally buy an arcade cabinet of this. Easily my favorite Arcade game, ever. So many quarters spent, so many hours wasted… and it was WORTH IT.

Hm, I’ve never noticed before that Animal’s face paint was missing on many of the sprites.

Hawk’s voice during the cutscene always cracked me up.

They wouldn’t even sell for themselves. IRL, anyway…

one of my all time favorites. such a great lineup, earthquake, jake the snake, slaughter, mr perfect, demolition, LOD, Warrior oh man sooo much money spent on this game, fond fond memories

    Guru Larry said it best:

“It’s odd that it looks like [LOD] were going to be selectable characters at one point. But really, [Technos] should have had LOD as the selectable characters and Demolition as the bosses, it would make more sense to have heels as the final bosses than faces :S”

I was so excited at a local pub they had this and other classic games to play. Oh the amount of money I spent on that as a youth. It’s pretty sad when watching a video game is more compelling than what you’ll be seeing on most wrestling shows now.

I remember there was a restaurant that I use to go to that had Arcade games, thus making it one of the best restaurants I ever went to. What put it over the top and made it the best restaurant I ever went to was that the Arcade games were all free and then had well over a dozen of them.

They had both Superstars and Wrestlefest (although not at the same time). I played quite a bit of Superstars but I never and I do mean evvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvver got a chance to play Wrestlefest. There were always people on it. Since this restaurant was out of town my parents weren’t cool enough to let me hang out there on my own for the afternoon. Plus I believe the restaurant expected you to buy food every 2 hours or some other loophole.

Anyways, I had to settle for Street Fighter 2 Champion Edition, Mortal Kombat 2 and Samurai Showdown to name a few.

How that place went out of business is beyond me.

Now you can pretend the bosses are the Ascension.
