It Came From YouTube: Yeti 2.0- Ninja Yeti!

After posting a clip of The Yeti, I asked Crapper Sean Bateman if he could find a clip of The Yeti in his Ninja persona (gosh, I love typing that sentence) and he came through for me!

I like how being a ninja has even less to do with being a yeti than the mummy costume.

They could have called him Kawisuki The Ninja or something after they changed the costume but they decided to just keep The Yeti name without explanation even though it didn’t make any sense because… WCW.

Maybe they thought nobody would notice?

But wait!

I found out that WCW did then re-name him Super Giant Ninja!

Better late than never, I guess?

Thanks for finding the Ninja Yeti clip, Sean! You are a fine young egg to be sure!

No problem. Somehow I wanna watch this version of the Yeti vs Kwang vs Yoshi Kwan for which American/Puerto Rican “Ninja” is the most superior one.

  2. Doc75 says:

honestly i thought the title meant the outfit he wore for the first World War 3 event. he kept this going even after that?

  3. John C says:

How about when Hercules Hernandez was The Super Invader in WCW in the early 90’s post Power & Glory days. He had a goofy ninja gimmick in a red outfit and was managed by Harley Race.

Whenever The Yetti was at home was he at The Yettisburg Address?

  4. Al Boondy says:

Whoa whoa whoa whoa WHOA … They spelled “Yeti” with two “T”s???

All these years, how am I just now noticing this?

  5. Scrooge McSuck says:

Further proof that there was no such thing as quality control in any department in WCW.

Bad production (poorly spelling an easy word like Yeti).
Bad gimmicks (a frozen mummy that is an abominable snowman turned ninja).
    Bad commentary (listen to it).
Bad continuity checker (switching costumes without switching gimmick names).
Bad fact checker (see Bad Gimmicks)

It’s like Giant Gonzalez and a cheap knock-off dollar store Scorpion from Mortal Kombat had a baby.

  7. DarthPitch says:

The Yeti vs. Akeem the African Dream. A match made in Wrestlecrap heaven.

  8. Rob says:

Why they couldn’t dress him in Giant Gonzalez gear is beyond me..

  9. Sean O says:

Here’s the kicker…notice the dates between those two videos….

    Saturday Night-January 20th 1996

    WCW primetime-January 29th 1996…

They changed his name to the Super Giant Ninja…then changed it back to the Yeti…and to top it off, in the Saturday Night video he’s fighting a Dungeon of Doom member as the Ninja and then rejoins the Dungeon as Yetti….someone wanna explain that to me???
