It Came From YouTube: Yes, even more NWA Pay-Per-View promos!

Crapper Paul S. is back with more vintage NWA promos:

We’ve been enjoying how awesome those 80s NWA pay-per-view/VHS ads were for the last couple of weeks. However by 1989 the company was firmly in the hands of Turner and the commercials were trying way… way too hard. Check out this ad

I love the spiked banjo and while I vividly remember the Flair/Steamboat feud, I have absolutely no memories of Flair being a “Japan’s Corporate Mercenary.”

“All your heroes in a multi-megaton massacre!” Plus special appearance by the Oak Ridge Boys!

The Great American Bash ’89 promo is better:

War Games, Flair vs Funk, Sting vs Muta, and something called “the Triple Crown Double Ring Battle Royal” I’m sold!

The Halloween Havoc is goofy as heck.

Really how hard is it to sell a Sting & Flair vs Funk & Muta cage match?

Elvira seems a lot more at home at Halloween Havoc than she was on Wrestlemania 2.

These are great! Thanks again, Paul!

  1. John says:

It seemed like the Flair corporate mercenary thing was almost to have a “Faux Horsemen” group with the Windhams and Butch Reed under Hiro Matsuda. Thankfully the awesomeness of the Flair-Steamboat feud and the Flair-Funk angle killed it. And really the Luger-Hayes match the biggest motivator for revenge since Pearl Harbor.

Booberella and Nash The Slash on the same advert?

  3. Bone White says:

And if there is no way in or no way out of the cage, well how are they going to have the match in the first place?

  4. Apestench says:

Wow! PPV Promos that actually tell you the card.
