Joe Gagne reviews Tag Team Wrestling for the Nintendo NES.
He’s absolutely right about everything.
This is an awful game.
Actually; since I never read the game manuals as a child; I never knew about that awkward menu system until I watched this review. I think I just randomly pressed buttons to try and make something interesting happen because I was frustrated by the horribly stiff animation and ear-bleedingly bad sound effects.
That makes me like the game even less than before.
I think even Nintendo John would have to admit that this one is a big steaming hunk of WrestleCrap. Give me (the much better) Pro Wrestling any day.
In conclusion, “Touch”.
Bad game, great YouTube series!
Agreed!
Something good DID come from this game, though. The Homestar Runner guys got the idea for Strong Bad from the bad guy masked tag team, the Strong Bads. Being a long time Homestar fan, I will always have a soft spot for this turd in my collection simply because of that.
Okay, I suppose that’s one good thing about it.
I’m impressed that he was able to find things to talk about for 7 and a half minutes…seems like more work went into producing this video than programming the game
Ha! You’re probably right.
I dropped a lot of quarters in the arcade version of this.
I actually used to do game reviews a long time ago and this one’s genuinely well done. He pretty much nailed everything that he said.
What about the infamous “plug and play” WWE game?
Even that was better than Tag Team Wrestling. 🙂
Brings back memories….as a kid me and my friend used to play this at his house. He only had one controller so we played the 1 player mode and when we tagged out we would toss the controller to each other.
