This latest bit of insanity from the Hardys would be Wrestlecrap worthy in all of it’s bizarre glory.
However there’s a pretty inside joke there. The “Gold Boat” is a reference to a fairly famous rant by Wrestling Observer Radio Host (and Death of WCW co-author) Bryan Alvarez burring TNA on an edition of the Bryan & Vinny Show.
So Matt Hardy just put a meme insulting TNA on TNA television.
Anyway TNA isn’t the only wrestling promotion to pay homage to the “Gold Boat” rant. In 2010 Ring of Honor paid homage to it on their HD Net show.
If they make a tv show with 70’s and 80’s era wrestlers attempting to procure love on this vessel than I would proclaim The Gold Boat to be the greatest program of all time and space.
The Gold Boat, it’s bronze and no longer dilapidated
The Gold Boat, you will no longer be simply deleted
The Gold Boat, come aboard we are expecting you
I certainly hope “The King In Gold” is *NOT* related to “The King In Yellow”….
[Look it up.]
“OH NO! My brother has been turned into a boat!”
Greatest line ever.
You’ll have to look for the Sign to know for sure. Beware!
I assume you were referencing Chambers.
Matt no longer needs that obsolete promotion.
Now see, had the Hardys kept the TNA Tag Team Belts in the Gold Boat they wouldn’t have ‘dropped’ them in a teleporting accident with Decay.
Then maybe they would have brought those belts to ROH and throw them in a golden trash can… >:)
Then they could take a golden shower, and… oh never mind.
