Following on from a WC induction a few weeks ago that saw the first episode of WWF Wrestling Challenge inducted I found this – Honky Tonk Man’s original theme music. HTM was featured in the induction when he was a face and this would have been the music he was using about then, I think it’s pretty neat…
Wow! That theme song is just wretched!
It’s nearly tuneless and it sounds like the guy singing it (is it Honky himself?) just got finished inhaling from a half-dozen helium balloons!
It’s especially bad when you compare it to the catchy theme song we all know and love:
That original theme song is in fact not cool, nor is it cocky.
It’s just bad!
That sounds like Elvis the way Barak Obama sounds like William Shatner.
Honky Tonk (Mail)Man rules!!
The video clip says the best known theme “Cool, Cocky, Bad”, was his 3rd.
What was the Honky Tonk Man’s 2nd WWE theme?
The guy who titled that is wrong. His themes were (copied from Wikipedia) “That’s All Right, Honky Tonk Mama” by Jim Johnston (WWF; 1986–1987)
“Cool Cocky Bad” by The Honky Tonk Man (WWF/E; 1987–1990, 1997–1998, 2001, 2008, 2013)
“Hunka, Hunka Honky Love” by Jimmy Hart and J.J. Maguire (WWF; 1990)
“Honky Dog Baby” by Jimmy Hart (WCW)
It sounds like Weird Al singing the song or Peter Brady just hit puberty.
hahaha he does.
The tune isn’t bad……but the singer is awful. Yes Cool Cocky and Bad is a definite improvement
