The Incredible Hulk Hulk Hogan Comic Book Panel

Crapper Paul S. writes:

Up until 2005 Marvel Comics owned the name “Hulk Hogan” and whatever wrestling promotion the Hulkster was working for would have to pay a licensing fee to Marvel. In 1988 Marvel had a little fun at Hogan’s expense. In a short story in Marvel Comics Presents #45 Hogan declared himself to be the “The One, The Only Hulk” unfortunately for the Hulkster the real Hulk and took umbrage with it. A brief battle ensued where the winner kept the name, Then this happened…

HULK SMASH HULK!

HULK NO LIKE PEOPLE WHO SKIRT TRADEMARK LAW!

HULK MAKE YOU PAY BIG TIME IF WANT TO USE HULK’S NAME FOR WRESTLING!

  1. AdamX says:

From that day on every time Hogan tells the story Banner gets stronger each time and then Hulk teaches him how to train and ends up leading/creating the Avengers…BROTHER.

  2. JustAGuyGuy says:

So wait, Hogan actually put someone over?

  3. Anonymous says:

That short story was actually written by legendary (in the comics industry) Hulk scribe Peter David. Hogan gets a major whupping in the issue.

  4. Jinx says:

Wait…you’re telling me that Hulk Hogan actually jobbed to The Incredible Hulk? I expected it to end the other way around heh.

  5. 80's Guy says:

I would love to have this comic, simply for the fact Hogan gets his ass handed to him. This is great.

  6. Mister Forth says:

So they mocked him, yet let him continue using it.

  7. Mr. Gentle Sociopath says:

If this part was added to The Hulk movie, it would have grossed like 500 million in the box office, and it would have make Hogan an even bigger legend !!!….Remember, Hogan rose to fame in Rocky 3 by actually LOSING….oh, the layers of irony !!!
