Real quick and dirty: after I posted that WrestleCrap was protesting the Grammys, due to Jive Soul Bro winning NOTHING 25 years ago, a number of you on Facebook agreed, at least tongue in cheek.

I ask, besides Slick’s classic ditty, what are some of the best themes sung by the actual wrestlers/managers themselves?

  1. John Rike says:

Obviously Cena’s Basic Thuganomics and My Time Is Now would be on that list

Koko B Ware’s Piledriver and Bird Bird Bird

Sensational Sherri’s version of ‘Sexy Boy’

    Jillian Hall’s ‘Sliced Bread’

Michael Hayes on Bad Street USA

    Junkyard Dog’s ‘Grab Them Cakes’

I can’t recall if it was Hillbilly Jim’s vocals on ‘Don’t Go Messin’ With A Country Boy’

    Mickie James’ Hardcore Country

And that’s all that stands out to me as being memorable for me as far as wrestlers performing their own themes go. If you asked for just ‘songs’ in general then obviously stuff like If You Only Knew, Land of 1000 Dances, the tune Lilian Garcia did Quevo something or other, would be mentioned as well

  2. RD Reynolds says:

Poor Hillbilly Jim…he’s still Waking Up Alone.

  3. WP15 says:

All-American Boys by The Fabulous Rougeau. Greatest wrestling theme ever!

  4. Dean says:

    “Buff Daddy” – Buff Bagwell

“We’re Not The Mounties” – The Quebecers

“Laughing Maniacally During Halloween Music From Every Halloween Party Anyone’s Ever Been To” – Kevin Sullivan

  5. Cobra says:

Not really a theme song, but Vince McMahon singing Stand Back is so grammy worthy.

  6. Bone White says:

Ted Dibiase’s “Million Dollar Man” theme

  7. Adam Cota says:

    Ravishing Rick Rude’s WCW theme
The theme to “No Holds Barred”

  8. Steve Balsky says:

“Chicks in Cars” ,the theme of the Can Am Express!

  9. Autrach Sejanoz says:

What, no mention of “Sexy Boy” by Shawn Michaels?

  10. MisterSpiffy says:

Hey No love for the Wrerstlecrap errrr WrestleRock Rumble??? lol

  11. Chris says:

The “American Males” theme deserves something, if not a Grammy nomination!

  12. MisterSpiffy says:

Let’s throw in P.N. News and YO Baby Yo Baby Yo baby YO!

  13. Bill Richy says:

I still laugh every time I think about the Shawn Michaels theme song … As sung by Kurt Angle.
    “I think I’m cute … I’ve got gold medals …”

  14. Adam Cota says:

“With My Baby Tonight” by the REAL Double J, which I distinctly remembering him singing one night on Raw before a match with Justin “Hawk” Bradshaw as, “I can’t wait to be alone with *spoken* YOU AND ZEBEKIAH!”

  15. AlonzotheMaster says:

Eat your Heart out Rick Springfield, could be a legitimate hit..

  16. Jimbolian says:

I’m rather disappointed in no mentions of Mean Gene’s slamming rendition of “Great Balls of Fire”.

  17. BigPoppaNasty says:

“Hello Ladies” as spoken by Val Venis at the opening of his theme music would have won a Grammy for spoken word.

  18. Peter says:

What about that rap called “Pie” that The Rock did, how did that never win a Grammy?

  19. The Dread Baron says:

    Micheal “P.S.” Hayes album Baddstreet

  20. 80sGuy says:

I see Jimmy Hart’s gotten his due, Koko B. Ware, even Mean Gene and Hillbilly Jim (yes, RD, I was going to bring up Waking Up Alone. Jim’s got a pretty good voice if I may say so).

One thing I’ve noticed, though, is that Rap Is Crap, by the West Texas Rednecks has not been mentioned. And that, quite simply, is a crime and a travesty that I am here to make right!!

    • The Gold Standard says:

that was what I was going to mention. Curt Hennig was rumored to be a huge karaoke fan and sang all the time. He wasn’t that bad. The song was awesome and should have received even a tongue-in-cheek laugh at the grammy’s and didn’t

  21. Totty Testosterone says:

Adrian Street – Just Imagine What I Could Do To You, I’m In Love With Me, Mighty Big Girl – every one a classic!

Also, another vote for the Freebirds’ Badstreet USA, one of the best suited entrance themes ever.

  22. Thomas Moffatt says:

Jake “The Snake” Roberts heel theme with him uttering the words “Trust Me”…

  23. Ben says:

The best of all time has to be Rob Conway’s “Just Look At Me!”
