It Came From YouTube: Where Are They Now: Charlie Minn!

I’ve got one last bit of Charlie Minn goodness for you all!

Crapper Jim Shea writes:

I guess let’s keep the train rolling and I hereby dub this week “It Came From YouTube: Charlie Minn Week”.

In case if you’re wondering what the crazy Asian has been doing recently, he had a gig with Action News 19 as their sports anchor circa mid 2000′s. Like many WWF/WWE announcers and backstage interviewers in the past (Sean Mooney anchoring Channel 9 News in New York and another station in Boston, Josh Matthews and Jonathan Coachman jumping ship to ESPN, etc.), Minn followed suit, but remains to be your lovable whacky and crazy #1 shill machine of all things. “No Boring Sports” indeed…

Outstanding! Thanks for updating us on Charlie’s career, Jim!

I can’t imagine being a sports fan and having to watch that guy on my TV.

    Yipes. Just yipes.

On the subject of former talent as broadcasters, Craig Minervini (Craig DeGeorge of the late 80′s WWF) has been working with the Florida/Miami Marlins for the longest time and has always been well spoken and knowledgeable, so not all of the former WWF shill machine guys ended up sucking elsewhere.

Whoops! I meant that Todd Grisham jumped ship to ESPN, not Matthews. I’m sure I’m not the only one who mix up their names now and then.

Why is he walking through traffic?

I moved to the Phoenix area in 2004. Imagine my surprise when I flipped on my new cable and saw Sean Mooney on Fox Sports Arizona. You know how he always seemed a bit crabby doing backstage interviews? Just as depressed talking PAC-12 football.

    C. Minn.

Wow, I can see why sports fans would hate watching him…always dumping on the home team (well it is the Browns). I remember watching a local sportscaster as a kid who was just as snarky. Got fired three times! ;)
