It Came From YouTube: The Best Of DJ Ran on WCW Monday Nitro

Here’s DJ Ran’s promo reel to promote his DJing skills.

Skills which involve playing a record, spinning that record around, scratching the record, and yelling at the audience while trying to get them to wave their hands and yell.

For those of you who don’t remember, DJ Ran was the.. well.. disc jockey who was a fixture at most WCW Monday Nitro shows in the late 90′s and early 2000′s.

Because that’s what a wrestling show really needs- a freakin’ DJ!

This is an example of yet another thing WCW spent money on that they didn’t need to.

Hey, want to hear my DJ Ran impersonation?

“I want the rowdiest WrestleCrapper out there to SCREAM!”.

Thank you.

*bows*.

“This is the greatest video in the history of our sport!!!!!!!”
    Best rappin’ skills since M.O.M.

  2. 80's Guy says:

Wow. Takes a lot of talent to tell people to chant a couple of stupid words.

The entire genre of music went down the $h!thole when rap evolved to what it is today. Too many lazy, no talented hack jobs making “music” or “dj-ing” with no substance whatsoever.

What did he almost say there at the beginning?

    You forgot one–

“DJ [print your made-up DJ name here] IS UP IN YOUR AREA!!!!!!!”

I have no problem with DJ’s. I love them. Sadly, DJ’s went downhill since the mid-90′s when it devolved into a bunch of yelling and screaming (sometimes yelling over the music they’re playing), being suck-ups for whoever is HOT-HOT-HOT at the moment, and instigating beefs between artists to get their ratings up.

    Yeah…just what WCW needed!
