It Came From YouTube: Taped from… somewhere, it’s NWO Saturday Night!

In 1997 the NWO was the hottest thing in wrestling, so they got their own weekly segment on WCW Saturday Night called… NWO Saturday Night.

It looks like they filmed it right in the middle of a taping of TNA Impact, but no; it’s just an empty arena (I know- “What’s the difference?”).

The concept was kind of funny.. for a few minutes… the first time they did it.

But of course, this being WCW; they beat it into the ground until everyone was sick of it.

Just like the NWO as a whole!

I was liking it until the cheesy camera effects started. The fact they had a canned audience in a mostly empty arena, the fact Nash was doing play by play…it was funny.

    But the camera effects sucked.

I didn’t watch the whole thing…but the only effect should have been Star Wipe.

It was so edgy to say their oppenents were from Stamford, Conn. Nash as always was a real quadruple threat out there color announcer, play by play announcer, sports entertainer and slouch down comedian.

They call it “nWo Saturday Night” but the segment uses the Nitro set and the Nitro ring, both WCW properties…like they’re not even trying.
