It Came From YouTube: Stevie Richards’ theme sounds familiar…

Crapper Drew sent in these videos of Stevie Richards’ them song, and “Love Dump” by Static-X. He writes:

This might be a stretch because the main metal riff is a little, say.. generic?

But, in the same way DDP’s WCW theme was just a ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ knock off – wasn’t Stevie Richards last WWE theme just ‘Love Dump’ by Static-X?

Yeah, they do sound alike.

More importantly; how awesome is Stevie’s TitanTron video?!

As a metalhead and big fan of Static-X back when, I noticed this almost immediately once Stevie had it as his music. Just think, this was playing at the end of Wrestlemania XX when he won the belt in the Triple Threat against Shawn Michaels and Triple H…what a moment.

“Spoiler alert ” if you get WWE Nipple & Triple H’s Retirement Fund Network you may see a different ending. Okay, here’s the truth it’ll be Simon Dean taking home the gold.

It also sounds like a metal version of Smooth Criminal (to an extent).

Funny that it’s associated with Stevie Richards now. He only had that theme because he managed Kronik during their 14.5 minutes of non-fame in WWF. Near the end of WCW just about everyone had a ripped off theme song, Stevie just inherited that one.
