It Came From YouTube: Rob Bartlett is the King of Schlock And Roll on an early episode of Monday Night Raw

Infamous early Raw announcer and funny man Rob Bartlett (he really is funny- just not on this show) decided to dress up like Elvis Presley on the March 1st, 1993 episode of Monday Night Raw.

Why?

Because it’s wacky, that’s why!

He proceeds to eat on camera a lot (because Elvis over-ate and got fat, you see…), and later gets pied by Doink The Clown for some more food-based humor.

As dumb as it is, this is all actually more entertaining than he usually was on these early Raws, so there’s that, I guess…

Still, he’s no Honky Tonk Mailman.

The Honky Tonk Mailman always delivers!

Am I alone in thinking that Bret’s image was too heel-ish for a face? Like that he should have tweaked it a bit more than he did when he turned face? Just try and tell me that jacket isn’t at least a tad douchey.

I wish Rob Bartlett was George Steinbrenner in his current state. I hated him even more than Pettingzoo.

  4. Mattie says:

Rob Bartlett seemed like a pretty funny guy but he just didn’t seem to know very much about wrestling or the WWF. I still would rather have him on commentary than Tazz, however.

  5. Jeremy says:

20-plus years later, they had Santino dress up as Elvis on Raw, some things never change.

LOL at 15:25, Vince gets upset at Bartlett for eating on camera. 20 years later, not only do they show Jerry Lawler eating on camera, but give you step-by-step instructions on how to order Domino’s online.
