Oh boy the Zeus reign of terror man did that suck big time. The worst part was when Hogan slammed and they sold it like it was the biggest move ever. Hulk had been slamming Andre, Bundy, Studd, Kamala…for years and Tiny weighed less than Hogan. Not to mention Beefcake being pushed down everyone’s throats, it shows how good Macho Man was when he carried Bruti through decent singles matches.
At least we haven’t gotten The Chaperone first the movie then theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee match!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Yet)

As much as Beefcake had become a running joke for his workrate and Hogan lapdog syndrome, the guy was really working his ass off in 1989-90 to justify the push he got. Was he working 4-star classics? No, but when most guys would get comfortable and lazy it up, he was having good matches on all his national TV exposure. As much as we want to say Perfect, Savage, Rude, Martel, etc. etc. carried him, it takes two to tango. Even a shitty worker can bring someone to there level (JYD vs. Ric Flair, Clash XI, anyone?)

  3. John says:

That was Flair’s worst match in his prime years yet I’ve still watched it a ton of times. For as much as I love a good Beefcake joke he was becoming a decent act on his own when the parasailing accident happened and screwed up the rest of his career.

How Vince has a voice left is beyond me. That doesn’t make his intros any less awesome though

  5. Bone white says:

Vince missed his vocation, he should have been in Napalm Death

  6. Anonymous says:

Beefcake had a unique gimmick. Not everyone has to be Bret Hart or Ric Flair. He added to the roster overall and was entertaining to some extent.

    Zeus was retarded though.

I miss when Vince would talk in his wrestlemaniac voice.
