Ric Flair and Ricky Steamboat are preparing for the final battle of one of the most epic feuds in wrestling history and Turner actually released a special edition of Europe’s “The Final Countdown” music video to hype it. So cheesy yet so awesome at the same time…

And I thought the song couldn’t get any more awesome.

Thanks, Paul!

I wonder if this is the video that inspired Bryan Danielson to use the song as his theme in ROH…

You could have 2 old guys playing chess to this song and it would still be awesome. And of course a Gob Bluth magic show. Have to go I suddenly feel the need to put on a bunch of hair spray and throw on some Zubaz.

Free of charge? I guess they were willing to do anything to compete with WrestleMania V.

It was. The WWF had hurt JCP(WCW) badly on thanksgiving in 1987 and JCP wanted to return the favor. So the Clash of the Champions wa created to go head to head with Wrestlemania and hurt the buy rates. The 1989 clash was the 2nd clash and again did do some damage to the buy rate for Wrestlemania V. And remember at the clash in April Steamboat and Flair had the famous 54 minute best of 3 falls match.
