It Came From YouTube: BRET! Go get ‘em, champ!

I was reading Scott Keith’s rant on a 1994 episode of Raw on his blog, and they aired this Public Service Announcement during the episode.

It’s so cheesy and self-congratulatory!

I especially love the heartwarming music they play in the background. It’s like something out of an episode of Full House.

Every time I see the ad, I keep hoping that Bret will deck the kid for bothering him backstage instead of giving him his sunglasses.

I mark out so hard for Bret, to this day.

  2. Gorilla Monsoon says:

That kid looks like Clifton Collins Jr.

  3. Brad says:

My favourite cheesy one is still the one where Diesel does the autograph signing and refuses to take any money for it. Its funnier now when you think of all the times Kevin Nash(in character anyway) brags about how much money he makes to anyone who listens

  4. John C says:

So they just let people roam around backstage just like that huh. So the next live show you go to see if you can mill about the entrance where the wrestlers (sorry “superstars”) head to the ring and see how long you get to chat with them.

  5. Scrooge McSuck says:

The real question… did they give Bret a new pair of glasses to give out to a fan at ringside?!

If anyone would like to read a better recap of that same episode, feel free to head over to http://art0donnell.blogspot.com/2012/12/raw-70-july-4th-1994.html .

I remember this one. I didn’t think it was too bad. It was obviously Vince’s attempt to show the world that, unlike their competition, they weren’t out of touch with their young fans and actually “cared” about them. I didn’t realize at the time that that’s what this was really about (stickin’ it to Ted any chance he got) but I sure as hell do now!

  8. Knob Creek makes TNA watchable says:

    Dad look it’s Brock Lensar!

    BROCCCCCCCKKKKKKK!

    Go get em champ!

    Brock Lensar – PISS

did you notice how much Bret Hart’s gimmick mirrored that of Michael Jackson at the time ?
