I’m just going to quote right from the video description:

The “All-Star Rock ‘N’ Wrestling Saturday Spectacular” originally aired on Friday, 9/13/1985 on CBS. It was a prime time special that was intended to showcase the Saturday morning cartoon programs for the season.

Hosted by WWF/WWE Superstar “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, the program features appearances by Gary Owens, Patti LaBelle, Pee-Wee Herman, New Edition, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Herve Villechaize, Hulk Hogan (via satellite), Captain Lou Albano, Cyndi Lauper, and others.

We also get previews of many of the programs like “The Berenstain Bears”, “The Wuzzles”, “Jim Henson’s Muppets, Babies, and Monsters”, “Hulk Hogan’s Rock ‘N’ Wrestling” and more.

I freaking love this special! Pure 80’s cheese.

Where else will you see Pee-Wee Herman, Roddy Piper, New Edition, and Tattoo from Fantasy Island all together?

Muppet Babies and Berenstein Bears? My first year and a half of existence was pretty stacked, shame I can’t remember any of it.

To an 80’s kid, those preview shows was like watching the NBA Draft. That way you know what shows to watch and which ones to hold off till the reruns show. Ironically 1985 was when I started watching WWF shows instead of the cartoons.
