It Came From YouTube: Charlie Minn is insane (but at least he’s wearing a spiffy shirt)

Short-lived WWF interview guy Charlie Minn goes insane on WWF “Action Zone” and plugs the 1994 Survivor Series and a Survivor Series t-shirt (I like the shirt!).

Charlie didn’t last very long in the WWF and it’s not hard to see why.

I’m watching this on mute… and I honestly can’t think it would be possible for it to be more entertaining with the sound on. Vince looks as if he’s thinking “who is this guy”, finds out he’s an employee, and then fires him after the camera stops rolling.

  2. The Angry Jobber says:

They should bring him back as RAW GM….couldn’t be any worse than Brad Maddox, that anonymous computer, or Mike Adamle.

    • Sean Bateman says:

      agreed

      • Thomas Moffatt says:

I think that should read couldn’t be any worse than Brad Maddox, that anonymous computer, or Mike Adamle and, naturally, Nipple H…

    • Joe T says:

Can’t really add more to what you guys have said except, I would sign a contract to buy every PPV for a year if they fired Maddox and brought Charlie back to take his place. An “evil” Charlie would be even better, he could have went crazy some more, slapped Pettengill and told him he’s keeping his shirt. Now that would be far more entertaining than what we have now.

….and yet Todd Pettengill was kept around for 4 years. Go figure.

    • Thomas Moffatt says:

WWE like annoying people – Michael Cole, Vickie Guerrero, The Bellas, Mike Adamle, Hornswoggle, Bo Dallas, Tony Dawson and, naturally, Nipple H…

Time for a Charlie Minn induction?

  5. Sean Bateman says:

I know who was smoking Warrior’s shit

  6. ScMcS says:

Todd Pettengill wasn’t great, but he was passable. His knowledge was limited, but he had good energy and camera presence.

    • 80's Guy says:

Pettengill passable??? What the hell did RVD give you to make that thought enter your mind?

He was atrocious and made you embarrassed to be watching anything with him present. I still can’t see how they kept any viewers around with him around.

  7. Alan says:

“Action Zone” was a good show initially. IIRC, they featured the blow-off to the Bret-Owen feud on the first episode. For some reason, I still have some “Action Zone” episodes in my WWF VHS archives.

  8. John says:

Lord anyone who can make Todd Pettingzoo seem like a professional announcer must have been on a 12 week crack binge.

  9. Christopher says:

I think Minn has made the rounds over the years. Several years ago he was doing the sports report on a newscast on a local NBC affiliate in Fresno. He didn’t last long.

  10. Mr Maddog says:

He’s no Funaki, Smackdown Anouncer…NUMBER ONE!!

  11. WaylonMercy24 says:

As bad as Charlie Minn was, at least he was better than Barry Didinsky. But they were both so terrible that they made Todd Pettengill look good in the same way that Birdemic was such a bad movie that it made Troll 2 look like an Oscar contender.
