  1. ScroogeMcSuck says:

Smackdown was better than it had any right to be (As in fairly average, instead of “holy shit, fucking awful”), running with a skeleton crew of a roster thanks to the Abu Dhabi tour. Awesome memes as usual.

I have to disagree with you. I was there and this Smackdown was the worst show I have ever been to. 1 or 2 decent matches, almost no storyline development at all, 1 person who could be considered a main eventer there, no care for heel or face roles, los matadors, and a terrible dark matches that took all of 5 minutes for battle royal and world title matching. Just my opinion.

      • ScMcS says:

I definitely agree with the lack of angle development, but watching it on TV, Sandow vs. Del Rio was a solid *** match, despite the confusing idea of Sandow working as a babyace, Cody/Goldust vs. Wyatt Family was fun and played to the strengths of everyone (i.e. babyfaces sold like crazy to get over the hosses), and Axel/Truth and the Los Matadores/Don’t Try And Figure Them Out squash were far from terrible. I could’ve done with Khali and the Divas, but it’s filler.

If I had paid to see this show and got the C-List roster, I might be of a much different opinion, but for free TV, I’ve seen much, much worse.

  2. THE Jeffry Mason says:

That briefcase rules! I just hope others follow suit when they win the briefcase. Big improvement on the “lets slap a logo on the case” theyve been using for ten years now. Imagine DB’s bearded case?

    Awesome job yet again!

  3. chris hollywood says:

    Loved the J&SBSB reference.

  4. Autrach Sejanoz says:

“Not on the writing staff” alone got me.

  5. Bam Bam says:

That Full Metal Jacket reference was awesome. I almost lost it when I read that.

  6. Mister Forth says:

    The last 3 win.

  7. big says:

    Last one was HOF worthy.

  8. Noel Frey says:

Hey, at least Tyson Kidd is back as El Locale #2…..

And on a more serious note, it looks like they’re pushing El Torito, the most enjoyable character in Los Matadores. He’s totally owning that stupid gimmick. Also he does nearly flawless springboard moves, so that helps.

    • Noel Frey says:

Holy crap I just looked him up on wikipedia and it says he’s 46 years old!

      • Totaldramawwe says:

No he’s 31. You must have show Mascarita Sagrada name by mistake.

        • Noel Frey says:

Mario Mejia Jiminez (Espectrito) is the name that popped up when I searched for El Torito. It may have been someone using the gimmick before the current one, though, because all of his appearances are listed as being for the WWF in the 90′s.

  9. Doc 902714 says:

This was Goldust’s first match on SmackDown ever.

  10. Caveman says:

Goldust looks like Darth Maul’s brother Savage Opress.
