For your viewing pleasure, here are five WrestleManias that each received a WrestleCrap induction! Let’s just hope we’re not inducting WrestleMania XXX a year from now.

How would you guys rank these five from LEAST crappy to MOST crappy?

I’d go with 2, 15, 11, 27, and 9, in that order. I could maybe possibly switch around 15 and 11, but the rest I’m certain of.

On my list, the only bottom WrestleMania not inducted yet is 4. I’d go 27, 11, 2, 4, 15, and down to 9

WM4 might have been passable though if not for the tournament format. The matches themselves were fairly middling with maybe one or two moderate stand outs. The biggest reason it’s considered wrestlecrap is mostly because it was about on par with the free cable TV shows quality wise, which hardly justifies the PPV price tag. If they had given it away for free I think it’d just be remembered as “that one tournament that Macho Man won” instead of “one of the more disappointing WrestleManias”.

      15, 2, 9, 27, 11

Least Worst… 2. WrestleMania was still finding it’s ground, but it’s still bad.

4th… 27. Taker/Brock is ****+, and Punk/Orton flirts with 4, but god damn is everything else so whatever, and all the pointless filler and talkin’ Rock segments. Pass.

3rd… 9. Opener and Tag are both ***1/2 efforts, and nothing is really AWFUL until Gonzalez/Taker. Lots of questionable finishes, but a unique and memorable atmosphere.

2nd… 11. The angles kind of made sense. That’s it. This one sucked from the workrate to production.

Worst… 15. Not because it’s newly inducted. It sucked. It sucked in 1999, it sucks now. Austin/Rock’s WORST Mania Match is the only saving grace.

  3. Thomas Moffatt says:

Wrestlemania 21 is a good candidate for a WC induction – Trish and Christy Hemme, the sumo match plus two stinky championship matches – take out Kurt Angle v Shawn Michaels and it would have been a 100% stuck fest

    • Justin Henry says:

not even close. MITB, Rey-Eddie, and Taker-Orton ranked between ‘really good’ and ‘great’. Batista-HHH wasn’t terrible, just not enthralling. It’s a clear thumbs up show.

      • Scrooged McSuck says:

Agreed. 2 piss break matches isn’t going to make a show with 4 outstanding matches tank to the depths of an 11 or 27. And 21 had Hogan making the save against that DIRTY TERRORIST (BUT NOT REALLY) Muhammad Hassan.

        • Thomas Moffatt says:

I remember at 21 JBL and Cena going through the motions in a very boring match where Stevie Wonder could have seen the result coming – it’ down to taste really and I forgot about the MITB debut. Eddie and Rey was part of an rapidly crap inducing angle. Guess 21 got off the hook but Hogan saving Eugene from Hassan IS WC worthy unlike The Sandman welcoming Eugene to ECW…
