Someone Bought This: WWF rigs their voting hotline to steal fans’ money

14 Submitted by on Wed, 24 July 2013, 00:00
On the November 8th, 1993 live Monday Night Raw show, the WWF announced that fans could pick Quebecer Pierre’s opponent for the main event for the November 15th by voting via a 1-900 number. I don’t know how much the call cost, but let’s say it was $2.99. The choices fans could pick from were: The 1-2-3 Kid Marty Jannetty Continue Reading...

Someone Bought This: WWE HLA (Hot Lesbian Action) t-shirts- the very definition of “tacky”.

9 Submitted by on Mon, 22 July 2013, 00:00
Crapper Pete Staiano found these two WWE HLA (Hot Lesbian Action) t-shirts from the early 2000′s on eBay, and on an old archived WWE.com page. This is an example of a catch phrase that never caught on, and I’m sure it’s something the modern day family-frinedly WWE hopes you don’t remember. But that’s why we’re here, folks! It was also a Continue Reading...

It Came From YouTube: Strike Force loves Hostess Potato Chips- and free WWF stickers, too!

4 Submitted by on Sat, 20 July 2013, 00:52
This commercial for Hostess Potato Chips aired in Canada in early 1988 to promote WWF WrestleMania IV (oh, and also to promote Hostess Chips, of course!). In it, the scheming (and hungry… but mostly scheming) Strike Force steals Mean Gene Okerlund’s delicious Hostess Chips. And even worse, they also got the WWF sticker that’s inside the bag! And remember, Strike Force Continue Reading...

It Came From YouTube: John Cena “Bad, Bad Man” music video parodies The A-Team

3 Submitted by on Sat, 13 July 2013, 00:00
Crapper E-Squared writes: I don’t know if you have posted this and I know that Cena’s album was inducted already, but I felt like submitting this. I remember when Cena’s album was promoted on Raw and Smackdown and how this was shown on Smackdown back in the day. I noticed that the video was a parody of The A-Team, but Continue Reading...

Crapper Zane Pasley sent in this John Cena Garden Gnomes. You might the able to still find them on the WWE Shop website. They get 100 points for creativity, minus 10,000 points for creepiness. Snow White would be so disappointed that her dwarf friends are all Cena marks....

Someone Bought This: WCW Nitro Fragrances For Men cologne promotional t-shirt

5 Submitted by on Fri, 12 July 2013, 16:51
Crapper Pete Staiano found this WCW Nitro Fragrances cologne promotional t-shirt and sent the link my way. In 1999 WCW commissioned “WCW Nitro Cologne” (which we’ve covered here before) and “WCW Nitro Perfume” and this t-shirt was somehow used as a promotional tool to promote the cologne. I’m not exactly sure who was supposed to wear this. Employees at WCW events? People Continue Reading...

Someone Bought This: WCW Monday Nitro Denim Jacket

11 Submitted by on Thu, 11 July 2013, 00:00
While cruising around The Internet Archives’ Wayback Machine, I came across the WCWwrestling.com store as it appeared in 1997. It featured this WCW Monday Nitro Denim Jacket. What better way than a jean jacket to have have the hip new style of 1987 in 1997? And hey; how could you pass it up for the bargain price of just $95?...

Someone Bought This: Ultimate Warrior Satin Jacket (resists evil black goo stains)

“Paying too much for a satin wrestling jacket doesn’t make the world work!!!” I just love the over-the-top quality of the artwork on the back of this thing. You will recall that this is the jacket The Ultimate Warrior was wearing when the evil black goo started coming out of his head thanks to Papa Shango’s voodoo curse. Don’t let Continue Reading...

It Came From YouTube: John Cena punches a lime in his first Fruity Pebbles commercial

Things I learned from this brief commercial for Fruity Pebbles featuring John Cena: 1. John Cena absolutely hates limes (“Too many limes! Too many limes!”) and will punch any that come anywhere near him while he’s trying to enjoy breakfast. 2. The people at Post knew that just having John Cena appear in the commercial, mug to the camera, and Continue Reading...

It Came From YouTube: WWF WrestleMania VCR Board Game Commercial

11 Submitted by on Fri, 14 June 2013, 00:00
Check out this weird commercial for the WWF WrestleMania VCR Board Game. The Macho Man Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth lead a teenager through.. um… some world that reminds me of The Halls Of Medicine from those old Halls Cough Drops commercials.  It’s like Randy’s leading the kid through a virtual representation of the WWE’s tape library. I half-expected Max Continue Reading...

It Came From YouTube: Mickie James can do it all thanks to Diet Dr Pepper

Wow! Mickie James is just a butt-kicking, horse-riding, country singing Diva who’s full of attitude! And courage! Oh yeah; and she grew up drinking Diet Dr Pepper when she first started riding horses, by the way! That’s very important to remember. Don’t you ever forget that! She’s full of both spunk, and Diet Dr Pepper… which she was apparently drinking before Continue Reading...
