Merle Vincent Griggs Tribute

7 Submitted by on Fri, 05 September 2014, 15:00
Even though it’s been years since his death, it’s still hard for me to believe that Merle Vincent Griggs is no longer with us. Merle loved pro wrestling – in fact, he promoted the first and likely only NWA Indianapolis event, which featured such stars as Dan Severn, Buddy Landell, and many others. He even gave me the opportunity to Continue Reading...

June 22, 1963 – June 7, 2006 John Tenta was my friend. Actually, let me rephrase that – John Tenta was our friend, a friend to everyone who ever visited this site. He was probably a friend to everyone he ever met. He was a good, good man, one to whom I owe a debt of gratitude that I can never fully Continue Reading...

WrestleCrap is saddened to learn of the death of Mae Young, who passed away this morning at the age of 90.  We had the honor of inducting her for several ‘comedy’ skits over the year, but even I (RD) have to give her props for not only being incredibly tough, but…well, yes, I will admit it…she made me laugh Continue Reading...

We’ll leave the Curtain Jerker title off today, and instead give full billing to a man who’s had quite a career in professional wrestling. William Moody, either as Paul Bearer or Percy Pringle III, was a unique character in a business full of them, standing out even when surrounded by larger-than-life monsters. Feel free to share some of your Continue Reading...

Tribute: Andre the Giant

I remember being scared of Andre as a child. In the summer of 1989, my Ninja Turtles and Legos, my Batman and my Double Dare, they all would get back-burnered in favor of something my brother Josh dragged me into. I wasn’t kicking and screaming when I got my first taste of World Wrestling Federation action, nor was I willing Continue Reading...
